What’s the Hadoop?

Last weekend, i atteded the weekend class to study about Hadoop.

Hadoop is the framework for distritued computing environment. And, the main keywords of hadoop are HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System) and MapReduce. HDFS is similar with GFS (Google File System). And the process of MapReduce is similar with “Group by-> Distinct-> Count” in the DBMS. Recenlty, Hadoop is the big story in the IT industry. That is the reason that i participated in this class. But, actually, i’m not programmer, and moreover i’ve no plan to develope something using Hadoop. But, i think that all components in the IT industry are related each other. So, i beleve that the knowledge of Hadoop is good for my work, indirectly. Anyway, to study about something is very interesting.
